Marriages and extramarital affairs

Happy Wednesday

Marriages and extramarital affairs… does it sound cliché… raised eyebrows… claims to have perfect, loving and committed relationships… totally into each other… are we living in fool’s paradise or we prefer to live a blindfolded life?

If marriages are perfect fairyland stories… Who are these men and women on tinder and coffee n bagel kind of platforms? Why when you search on the internet looking for a friend… hundreds of options window pops up…

Gleeden the new portal on the block is the new noise… the dating portal for women and made by women… can we believe? 3 lakhs Indian women signed up in last 2 years… some must be unmarried too… I cannot stop asking myself again and again who are these men and women if we all are happily married?

We have been talking about monogamy and polygamy on our talk show at sipping thoughts… relationship experts and coaches are in agreement of the issue faced in the marriages… web shows and films are being made on illicit affairs…

Let me get back to the subject… what I think… I understand and I am not in denial that it is happening around us… big time…

I personally believe marriage is a very beautiful institution being dramatized by the social set up… elaborate weddings… fairytales… family values… so firstly the train of the minds have to be changed… do not expect it to be filmy ever after kind of life… marriages are tough… very tough… it is an institution made and conditioned by the people … for the people…

Monotony and boredom come… living under one roof with the same person… we will have differences… who so ever you are living with… what so ever the relationship is… so allow and forgive if someone slipped… do not live in denial and covering up for the person… don’t feel the shame… believe me one is not alone in this struggle and confusion… once we start to accept n smile and say “Oh I see the trouble… let me see how I deal with it…”

Because marriage is a big investment… one has made… maybe the biggest… where you have invested your youth… your love… your emotions… your years… your body… mind and soul… if you fail… you fail the biggest invested institution of your life…

The story does not stop here… till next time…
Love your life!

My special thanks to Dr. Rachna who I met yesterday on @sippingthoughts… she was like a fresh breeze of conviction who spoke with solidity about the faith in marriage institute… when the marriage is shaky… meet the marriage coach… please pick your coach wisely as it may save or ruin the marriage…
